George Floyd Riots Are a Warning to Autocratic Governors

The George Floyd rioters may  identify with Floyd because they feel that state or local government is kneeling on their necks.

The  claim   that  Floyd    died of strangulation  ignore the fact he was able to say "I can't breathe!"   The facFloyd  could speak means he could exhale air through his throatThus the statement "I can't breathe!"  probably indicates he could  not expand his lungs so  he  could draw in air.    He would have had trouble  expanding his lungs lying face down with a man  on  his back.

If the men involvein Floyd'death  are typical of  those who  work for the Minneapolis police department I'm glad I don't have to rely on the Minneapolis police department for protection.

Russia Investigation Blatantly Unconstitutional

[Is the Bill of Rights a Bad Joke?   pt. 2]   .

Attorney General William Barr should  send a letter to the  Supreme Court  stating that the 2016 election investigation violated the Constitution because it was based in part on an unverified  dossier provide by  British MI6 agent who conceded that it might only be  70% to 90% accurate

Most people don't understand that the Bill of Rights provisions regulating law enforcement weren't added to the Constitution to protect killers and thieves. The  provisions were added to the Constitution to prevent corrupt law enforcement agencies from misusing the criminal justice system to harass political activists.   One of the worst abuses in British legal history was  the "Star Chamber" proceeding which allowed the use of secret unsubstantiated allegations against the accused, especially against political activists.

The involvement of British intelligence agent Christopher Steele in the investigation in effect makes it a form of Star Chamber proceeding.  I know he says he's retired, but think about it. Obviously,  if he's on a "secret mission" for the British government, he's not going to say "I'm on a secret mission to discredit Donald Trump."  He's going to say "I'm retired."   I have enough respect for Britain's MI6
to believe that it can  arrange  for agents on secret assignments to appear  retired or to have "jobs"  that have no connection to the British government.

Patrick Cockburn
compared the Steele dossier to the British government's exaggerated claims about Iraq's  Weapons of Mass Destruction.

American courts need to know how information is obtained so  defense attorneys can have an  opportunity to discredit government  allegations,    Agents like Steele need to keep some information and sources of information secret.  Courts need to know the truth.  Agents must be able to lie convincingly such as when the British  overstated the status of Iraq's  Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Regardless of whether or not  Steele  prepared the Trump dossier on assignment for his government, the dossier appears to be the type of propaganda piece an agent might prepare for his government. It's not important whether Steele's document caused the Mueller investigation or merely encouraged it.   What is important is that allowing a foreign agent to encourage a criminal investigation of an American politician allows other countries to meddle in our politics by providing evidence to destroy politicians they don't like.

Major Russian Espionage Involving Obama's DOJ

The  following is a repost of a discussion about what the Russian hackers were really doing in 2016.

Robert Mueller and his staff may be covering up the biggest act of espionage in the United States since the acquisition of atomic secrets by the Russians at the start of the Cold War.  Mueller is supposed to be investigating what the Russian hackers called "Fancy Bear" did during the 2016 election.  However, he continues to ignore an Associated Press expose indicating Fancy Bear focused on non-partisan email users including defense industry employees and those in the intelligence community.  According to the AP,   Department of Justice employees were aware of  what Fancy Bear was doing, but didn't warn those whose emails were being hacked.  .  Fancy Bear used access to the Democrats national committee emails as a cover story to hide what may have been the real reason for the operation from the meatheads at the Department of Justice (DOJ)..

The popular myth is that Fancy Bear was accessing the Democratic Party's emails to help Russia influence the 2016 presidential election.  Russia couldn't have used the Democratic national committee emails to influence the presidential election because the candidates' organizations run the presidential campaigns -- not the national party organizations.    It is unlikely Russia needed hackers to get the Democratic emails.   Russia almost certainly had an agent planted in the Democratic national organization who would have used a zip drive to copy emails along with general information  about party personnel and supporters. An agent in the organization can use conversations to obtain information that is never placed in the computer.  China and Israel also probably had agents in the Democrats organization.

It may come as a surprise to some politicians and journalists, but Americans and Russians and their allies have been spying on each other and attempting to influence political opinions in each other's countries for 70 years.

It is time to recognize that Fancy Bear was conducting a major espionage operation rather than attempting to play politics.   I don't know if the Justice Department's Fancy Bear  collaborators  were just stupid or  the Russians paid them for their services.   Nor, do I know if Mueller and his staff are taking money from the Russians or they're just trying to protect "dirty" DOJ employees and possibly former President Barack Obama.     Obama's cybersecurity coordinator Michael Daniel has indicated Obama told DOJ employees not to stop the Russians.

It's time for President Donald Trump to replace Mueller and his band of incompetents with investigators who  have never worked for the Department of Justice.   Their mission should be to identify and prosecute those who collaborated with the Russian hackers and to determine if the Russians were able to use the knowledge they obtained to access classified information or infiltrate corporate or government computers.

Even if personal emails didn't contain classified information, they could have helped identify people who could be black mailed or be willing to accept bribes.   Emails could  have identified disgruntled employees who might welcome help to get even with an "unfair" employer.   A covert agent could get acquainted with the employee and then  tell the employee how he or someone he knew got even.

Is Lockdown Without Compensation Unconstitutional?

Lockdown without compensation  violates the spirit if  not the letter of the Fifth Amendment provision: "nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

The lockdown may not involve government  permanently taking possession of property as is usually the case, but the action deprives the owner of the right  to use the property  to  generate
income which  in effect  is the. same situation.   States have been compensating  owners  of property commandeered for use  to treat COVID-19 patientsStates   should be compensating  owners  of lockdown  property.

F
irefighters may  construct firebreak to  stop a major wildfire.   They will burn  off a strip of vegetation  ahead of the  fire so the  fire will stop when it reaches the break.

The states have been using closed businesses as "virus breaks" because the  virus cannot  move through   empty  spaces.   By taking  private property for public use as "virus breaks" states are obligated to compensate the property owners.

States probably won't compensate the property owners  unless  property owners can use class action lawsuits to  get the courts to order compensation.   Alternatively property owners might ask President Donald Trump to require   states  to first  use any new virus assistance to compensate the property owners.
